How Many Shots Does It Take to Get a Dugan Family Portrait?

I don’t know how this started, but for a few years now, it is a challenge to take a good Dugan Family Portrait of any kind. Here is an example from a recent graduation party we attended for some close friends of ours at Dos Comales in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Do you have anyone in your family who is photographically challenged?

Jacob makes a face, and Olivia scolds, just as I click the shutter button.

Jacob isn't the only one who causes the problem. Emma gets in on the act.

Thought we had the shot, then Jacob looked at the face Emma made.

Olivia felt Jacob make a face. Scolded him without looking. I was impressed.
Emma was not amused.

Jacob pokes Olivia's back.

Got a good smile out of Olivia. The kids say "Cheese!" in their own way.

Finally. Good thing I was the photographer on this one.
Could have taken longer.
