It is always a joy to have my daughter on the podcast with me. We discuss her first week of middle school in the format of "Rose, Thorn, and Bud". It's a dinner-time discussion format we use to talk about our day as a family. The "Rose" is where we share what went well, the highlights of the day. The "Thorn" is the biggest challenge we faced in that day, or a low point. The "Bud" is where we identify one way we will get the most out of the next day. Emma also asks me what is the hardest part of waiting for God's perfect timing. Thanks, Olivia, for planting that question. It was a good one.

ReplyDeleteThanks. Emma came up with the format herself. Originally, I pitched a father-son podcast to my son. He turned it down. Emma swooped in suggesting a rotating family appearance (she would go first, of course) and even added the part where I ask a question to my guest. She hates it when I say, "We flip the un-script!" during the introduction. I'm glad you loved the podcast.
