The Mindset of a Winner

Our minds will answer whatever questions we ask of it.

There have been times in my life when my self-talk was filled with questions like, "Why am I such a loser?" It creeps in there when I'm pushing myself really hard and seeing little results, or even worse, when comparing my own progress to the progress of others.

Bil Cornelius recently released a book called Today is the Day, and he points out in an early chapter that when we ask ourselves, "Why am I such a loser?" our minds will work to fill in reasons why that statement should be true.

What he suggests is, in my humble opinion, profound in living life intentionally and fully. Change the question. Instead, ask, "Why am I such a winner?" and let your mind work on answers to that question.

We have heard the old saying, "You are your own worst critic."

Let's flip that script so for us the old saying is, "You are your biggest fan!"

You're probably asking yourself, so what's the mindset of a winner? You tell me. You're the winner.

Why are you a winner? Tell me in the comments below.
