  1. I try every day to spend quantity and quality time with my kids. While they are so young, 5 and 7, they don't care about money or reputation. They just want me to play with them. Sometimes I forget how important my presence is to them.

    1. Your presence is all that matters to them at this age. I am surprised how often I hear Jacob's friends say with surprise, "Your dad hangs out with you?!" or, "You tell your dad you love him?!" I love it when he replies, "Yeah. Why? Don't you?" There's never any shame in his voice. Instead, it sounds like gratitude and surprise. Surprise that this isn't normal for his friends, and grateful that it is normal for him.
