It is always a joy to have my daughter on the podcast with me. We discuss her first week of middle school in the format of "Rose, Thorn, and Bud". It's a dinner-time discussion format we use to talk about our day as a family. The "Rose" is where we share what went well, the highlights of the day. The "Thorn" is the biggest challenge we faced in that day, or a low point. The "Bud" is where we identify one way we will get the most out of the next day. Emma also asks me what is the hardest part of waiting for God's perfect timing. Thanks, Olivia, for planting that question. It was a good one.Emma’s question to me: What has been the hardest thing about waiting for God’s perfect timing?
|Emma decided to tie-dye this weekend.|
My question to Emma: What would you say were your roses, thorns, and buds for your first week of middle school?
Our question to you: How would you describe your first gym locker room experience? How did you overcome the shame of changing in front of your peers for the first time?
